Lorna MacLachlan
Lorna MacLachlan has been writing, arranging and performing in Western Canada for over 30 years. After completing a graduate degree in composition, she composed scores for Theatre, Dance and National media companies as well as a variety of music across the spectrum of music genres. Her most recent compositions and performances are brought to life by a group of amazing musicians, The Lorna MacLachlan Quintet, including Richard Harding on saxophones, Robin Tufts on percussion, Jeremy Coates on bass, Andre Wickenheiser on trumpet and Lorna on piano/keys and vocals.
As an educator Lorna has also been passionate about music and a strong advocate for the arts in the development of young minds. She has taught music in the public schools for over 24 years and has been recognized nationally for her dedication to excellence in music education. She has studied with some of the finest musicians in Canada and the United states including David Braid, Maria Schneider, Hugh Fraser, Phil Dwyer, Don Thompson, and Misha Mengelberg, to name a few.
